How it works

A warning you can
make plans around.

For the commute, the lunch meeting, and the appointment you would rather reach on time.

01

Leave now.

A little notice may give you a chance to cross before a likely delay.

02

Wait a while.

Stay where you are a little longer, instead of spending that time in traffic.

03

Take another way.

Consider another route or let someone know your arrival time may change.

Using AI to help you on your journey.

Less surprise.
More choice.

I5 Bridge Boss estimates when the bridge may disrupt traffic. The aim is useful advance notice that helps you decide what to do next.

It is a planning aid, not a guarantee. Conditions can change. Follow traffic signs and official road guidance when you travel.

A useful public service

Free for the
first crossing.

The initial launch will be free, so people can try it and see how it helps their journey.

$0 at launch

Future plans may cost around $10–$20 per year, with options based on how much advance notice you want. Those plans are not final.

A few useful answers

Good questions.

Who is I5 Bridge Boss for?

Commuters, drivers, and anyone planning to cross the Columbia River on I-5 near Portland and Vancouver.

Will it work on my phone?

The first version is planned as a mobile app and a website.

How much notice can it give?

The goal is useful advance warning, potentially up to around an hour. The available notice will depend on the situation; it is not guaranteed.

Is it free?

It will start free. Later versions may offer paid notice windows, with pricing still to be finalized.

Does a warning mean the bridge will definitely open?

No. A warning is an estimate to help you plan. Conditions and timing can change.

Cross with a little
more confidence.
